RIYADH: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s deepest condolences and sincere sympathies to the governments and peoples of the State of Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates over the martyrdom of a number of members of their armed and security forces while performing their national duties, praying to Allah to bestow His mercy and forgiveness upon them and to grant their families patience and solace.
The ministry affirmed the Kingdom’s solidarity with the State of Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates in this tragedy and its readiness to make all its capabilities available to support them in any measures they take, wishing the injured a speedy recovery, reports Saudi Press Agency.
Earlier, Saudi air defence systems intercepted and destroyed several drones and a ballistic missile targeting key locations across the Kingdom, the defence ministry said, as regional tensions continue to escalate.
Spokesperson for the Ministry of Defence, Major General Turki Al-Maliki, said nine drones heading toward the Shaybah oil field were intercepted and destroyed in the Empty Quarter desert.
