ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Wednesday rejected the recent remarks by India’s National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, saying the rhetoric is coming from a hate-monger for whom ‘imagined historical vendettas are a substitute for responsible statecraft.’
The statement by Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Tahir Andrabi came in response to media queries regarding the Indian NSA’s “avenging history” remarks.
“We have seen the reports on remarks made by the National Security Advisor of India. Such rhetoric is hardly surprising coming from camouflaged hate-mongers, for whom imagined historical vendettas are a substitute for responsible statecraft,” he said.

Indian media reported that Doval made the remarks while speaking to young people at an event in New Delhi, urging them to draw lessons from India’s past struggles and to harness the powerful force of “vengeance” to strengthen the country, including in areas such as security and the economy.
Tensions between the two countries escalated following the killing of 26 tourists at Pahalgam in Indian-Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
India accused Pakistan of involvement in the attack, a claim Islamabad has strongly denied, instead calling for an independent international investigation.
The situation worsened on the night of May 6–7, when India carried out a series of missile strikes on Pakistan, resulting in civilian casualties.
This was followed by retaliatory missile exchanges over the course of a week. The escalation eventually de-escalated after diplomatic intervention by the United States.
