ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir on Wednesday warned that any breach of the country’s territorial integrity, whether direct or indirect, will be met with a firm and decisive response.
In a statement, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the military’s media wing, the Army Chief made the remarks while interacting with participants of the 18th National Workshop on Balochistan in Rawalpindi.
The Field Marshal affirmed that the Pakistan Armed Forces remain steadfast in their commitment to safeguarding the lives and well-being of the nation’s citizens.
He commended the resilience and patriotism of the people of Balochistan, highlighting the province’s strategic importance for Pakistan’s overall prosperity and development.
He praised the wide-ranging initiatives undertaken by both the federal and provincial governments, emphasising a people-centric approach aimed at improving socio-economic conditions and unlocking Balochistan’s vast economic potential for the benefit of its residents.

Field Marshal also acknowledged the constructive role of civil society, particularly in countering propaganda, noting their vital contribution to sustainable development.
He stressed the need to set aside vested political agendas to ensure Balochistan’s future is shaped by inclusive and long-term prosperity for all its citizens.
Addressing security challenges, the Field Marshal observed that Indian-backed proxies continue to foment violence and disrupt development in the province.
He reaffirmed that such hostile designs would be firmly countered by the security forces to eliminate terrorism and restore peace.
The workshop focused on Balochistan’s socio-economic development and its strategic significance for Pakistan.
The session concluded with an interactive question-and-answer segment, during which the Field Marshal provided further insights into ongoing efforts to advance both development and security in the province.
