ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s youth volleyball team stormed into the semifinals of the 3rd Asian Youth Games 2025 in Bahrain after defeating China in the quarter finals.
The Green Shirts clinched their victory in a speedy 53-minute match at the Isa Sports City on Sunday, winning 25-12, 25-13, 25-17.
Pakistan began their campaign with a straight-sets victory over Mongolia, followed by a 3-0 win against hosts Bahrain in their Group A match.
They continued their winning streak by defeating Uzbekistan in a similar fashion on Thursday during their first Group E match of the Classification Round.

The team then secured a 3-1 victory over Saudi Arabia to top the group, with set scores of 25-16, 25-21, 23-25, and 26-24. Standout performers included Khizar Hayat, Mohammad Yahya, and Mohammad Anas.
Pakistan will now play the semifinals on October 27 Monday at 9 pm local time.
The country has sent a 53-member contingent for the ongoing games, which are being held from October 22 to 31, and has already claimed its first medal—a bronze in the boys’ kabaddi event.
In a post on social media, the Pakistan Volleyball Federation (PVF) said the “proud achievement” was made possible by Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) Director General Muhammad Yasir Pirzada, “who organised the national training camp for the team’s preparation for this prestigious event.”

Under the leadership of Head Coach Saeed Ahmed Khan and Team Manager Naseer Ahmed, the Pakistan Youth Volleyball Team has shown exceptional consistency and improvement throughout the tournament.
