LOS ANGELES: Global pop icon Taylor Swift has announced a new six-part docuseries and concert film chronicling her record-breaking Eras Tour, extending what she calls “the most important and intense chapter” of her career.
The 35-year-old singer revealed the news on Good Morning America (GMA) on Monday, confirming that Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour | The End of an Era will premiere on Disney+ on 12 December 2025, coinciding with her 36th birthday.
The docuseries will be accompanied by a full concert film, Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour | The Final Show, capturing the tour’s grand finale in Vancouver, Canada.
GMA first teased the news on Sunday, calling it a “huge new exclusive announcement,” prompting global anticipation among fans known as Swifties.
Behind the Scenes
According to a press release from Disney, the docuseries will provide an intimate glimpse into the making of The Eras Tour — the highest-grossing concert tour in history — spotlighting key performers, collaborators, and family members who helped bring the two-year global phenomenon to life.
Among those featured will be fellow artists Gracie Abrams, Sabrina Carpenter, Ed Sheeran, and Florence Welch, who joined various legs of the tour. The production promises behind-the-scenes access, unseen rehearsal footage, and candid reflections from Swift herself.
Swift took to social media to share her excitement, posting: “It was the end of an era and we knew it. We wanted to remember every moment leading up to the culmination of the most important and intense chapter of our lives, so we allowed filmmakers to capture this tour and all the stories woven throughout it as it wound down.”
Record-Breaking Album
The announcement follows just ten days after the release of Swift’s 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, which dropped on 3 October 2025. The album has already shattered records, with Billboard reporting that it achieved the highest one-week pure album sales in the modern era in the United States, surpassing the record previously held by Adele’s 25 (2015).
Speaking on Late Night with Seth Meyers on 8 October, Swift described the release as her most rewarding yet: “It’s absolutely been my favourite one. It’s been the most joyful album release I’ve ever had.”
She earlier explained that the album reflected “what was going on behind the scenes in my inner life during the tour — exuberant, electric, and vibrant.”
Engagement and Future Plans
Adding to her milestone year, Swift confirmed her engagement to NFL star Travis Kelce in August after two years of dating. She announced the news with a series of Instagram photos from what she described as a “bucolic proposal,” featuring a custom vintage-inspired engagement ring.
Sources close to the couple told People magazine that their upcoming wedding “will definitely be a private affair and not a spectacle,” similar in tone to the wedding of Swift’s longtime friend Selena Gomez.
Swift was recently spotted at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, cheering for Kelce during the Chiefs–Lions game, accompanied by WNBA star Caitlin Clark and Kelce’s father, Ed Kelce.
