ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Met Office has predicted that monsoon rains will persist in the upper parts of the country today (Thursday).
The Met Office forecasts rain and thundershowers at isolated places in northeastern Punjab, Potohar region, Islamabad, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Kashmir today.

It added that hot and very humid conditions are expected to continue in the southern parts of the country.
According to the Met Office, in Rawalpindi, 46 mm rain has been recorded at Katcheri, 41mm at Gawalmandi and 36 mm at Chaklala during last 24 hours.
Mangla has received 34 mm rain while 33mm rain has been recorded in Mandi Bahauddin. In Kashmir, Muzaffarabad has received 36mm rain at city and 35mm at airport during last 24 hours.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 20 mm rain has been recorded at Malam Jabba.

The Met Office said that reservoirs’ level is also continuously increasing due to the current monsoon rains in upper parts of Pakistan.
