JEONJU, South Korea: Pakistan’s young netball warriors surged into the final of the Asian Youth Girls Netball Championship 2025 with an emphatic 64-39 triumph over Japan in a thrilling semi-final clash at the Jeonju Hwasan Gymnasium in South Korea.
From the opening whistle, the Green Shirts took command, igniting the court with an electrifying burst that saw them race to an imposing 21-7 lead in the very first quarter.
Their pace never faltered, as they steadily widened the gap to 34-19 by halftime.
The third quarter saw Pakistan’s grip tighten further, pushing the score to 42-28, before sealing their dominance with a commanding 64-39 finish that left the crowd in awe.
This resounding victory was fuelled by the brilliance of key stars—Leya Raza Shah, Alisha Naveed, Sumayya Kouser, Haleema, Jasmine Farooq, Amani, Parisa, and Farah Rasheed—whose combined prowess on both ends of the court proved unstoppable.
Celebrations poured in from the top echelons of Pakistani netball, as Chairman Mudassar Arian, President Sameen Malik, and Secretary General Muhammad Riaz lauded the team’s stellar performance, applauding their grit and poise under pressure as they punched their ticket to the championship final.
Set for Friday, Pakistan now awaits the victor of the second semi-final showdown between Maldives and Chinese Taipei, ready to battle for ultimate glory.
This championship, staged under the banner of the Asian Netball Federation from June 27 to July 4, has witnessed Pakistan’s meteoric rise.
Their campaign exploded onto the scene with a thunderous 71-15 defeating Saudi Arabia.
The Green Shirts didn’t pause, rolling over Chinese Taipei 56-32, before unleashing a staggering 91-6 blitz against hosts South Korea. Their momentum surged further with a 79-39 conquest of Japan in an earlier meeting.
Pakistan cemented their supremacy in Group B by edging out the Maldives 49-39 in a tense clash, booking their semi-final berth and setting the stage for this exhilarating run.
