MINA, Saudi Arabia: The Saudi healthcare system continues to deliver comprehensive services to pilgrims during the Hajj season, 2025, with the total number of health services provided by June 2 (Dhu al-Hijjah 6) exceeding 91,000.
These efforts are part of a coordinated initiative across the entire healthcare system to provide high-quality, efficient medical services, in line with the objectives of the Health Sector Transformation Programme and the Pilgrim Experience Programme under Saudi Vision 2030, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Monday.
The goal is to ensure that pilgrims can perform their rituals with ease, safety, and peace of mind in a fully integrated, health-focused environment that meets the highest international standards.
Since the start of the Hajj season, health data shows that 51,938 pilgrims have visited primary healthcare centres, while 22,486 cases were treated in emergency departments, and 1,069 patients received care in outpatient clinics.
A total of 4,119 individuals have been admitted to hospitals, including 1,973 requiring intensive care. Medical teams have successfully performed 16 open-heart surgeries, 145 cardiac catheterization procedures, and treated 44 cases of heat exhaustion with efficiency and care.
The healthcare system is steadily ramping up its efforts to deliver comprehensive medical services to pilgrims through advanced planning and a high state of preparedness.
These measures are aimed at safeguarding pilgrims’ health and ensuring they can carry out their rituals in a safe and supportive environment.
