Israeli Troops Injure 11 Palestinians

RAMALLAH: As many as eleven people were wounded in Jerusalem during clashes between the protestors and Israeli troops in the northern part of the city.  

According to Arab news, the Israeli troops fired bullets and used tear gas to disperse the protestors as dozens of Palestinians marched and demanded the release of bodies, who died in detention. 

According to the Palestine Red Crescent Society, they provided medical treatment to several injured people. The families of the victims and members of the civil society were holding protest in the area. Israeli troops are reportedly holding the bodies of seventeen Palestinians from the city who died in detention.

According to a campaign that working for the return of bodies and for information about the fates of people who went missing, Israel has held the dead bodies of 256 Palestinians in so-called “graves of numbers” and 117 in refrigerators since Israel restored the policy of kidnapping bodies in October 2015.

Palestinians also say about sixty-eight people have gone missing since the beginning of the Israeli occupation in 1967. Protesters asked the international community to hold Israel accountable, describing the refusal to return bodies as a form of collective punishment and a violation of international laws. The protestors said that Israel is holding the bodies of dozens of former detainees in an attempt to press Hamas to free four Israeli soldiers.
