ISLAMABAD: The much-anticipated final of the National Women’s T20 Cricket Tournament (NWT20) is set to take place on Saturday, featuring a showdown between two of the competition’s top-performing teams – the Conquerors and the Stars.
Fatima Sana will captain the Conquerors, while Sidra Ameen will lead the Stars.
Both sides concluded the league stage with 10 points each, but it was the Conquerors who secured a direct berth in the final thanks to a superior net run rate.
The Stars booked their place in the final by overcoming the Challengers in a high-pressure qualifier.
The champion of this prestigious tournament will receive a grand prize of 1.5 million rupees along with the coveted trophy, while the runner-up will be awarded one million rupees.
Conquerors’ skipper Fatima has been in outstanding form throughout the tournament, scoring 339 runs – including two half-centuries – and taking 10 wickets.

Her teammate Syeda Aroob Shah has also been impressive with the ball, claiming 10 wickets.
“Our team has performed consistently well during the tournament, and we’re prepared to put in a strong showing against the Stars in the final,” Fatima commented.
“The Stars have had a good run, and their win in the qualifier against the Challengers was commendable. We’re expecting a thrilling final,” she added.
Meanwhile, Stars captain Sidra Ameen has also delivered an excellent campaign, amassing 328 runs in nine innings, including four fifties.
The team’s bowling attack has been led by Tuba Hassan and Anosha Nasir, who have each taken 12 wickets in nine matches.
“Our side has performed well throughout the tournament. Our spinners have been crucial to our success. We’ve beaten the Conquerors twice in the group stage, and we’re hoping to carry that momentum into the final,” said Sidra.
