ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday ordered a Pakistani citizen, who had two children from two Polish women, to hand over them to their respective mothers until the next hearing in the case.
The two Polish women, their Pakistani husband, and Polish embassy officials appeared before the court during the hearing of the case involving the possession of two children who had been brought to Pakistan by the man after he had strained relations with his Polish wives.
Both the Polish women became emotional after seeing their children in the courtroom, and they hugged them and cried.
Hearing in the court
During the hearing, the court was told that the Pakistani man is a Muslim and his Polish wives are Christian. The court was told that both Polish women arrived in Pakistan today for the court hearing.
The Pakistani man’s lawyer told the court that his client has a big business in Poland and he used to help both Polish women before their relations became strained due to religion. He said that his client brought the children to Pakistan and also relinquished his Polish citizenship for the sake of his children.
The court inquired from the Pakistani man, “You should keep the Polish citizenship and go there to train the children”. In response, the Pakistani man said that the mosque there was 300 kilometers away from his residence.
At this, the court observed, “You have so many restaurants in Poland and you should build a mosque for them near your residence”.
After arguments, the high court ordered that the two children should be handed over to the two Polish mothers and the children should be kept in the Polish embassy. The court also ordered the submission of the passports of the Pakistani man and his children to the FIA.
The court remarked that the handover of the children to their mothers was on a temporary basis. Further hearing in the case will be held on Wednesday.
