RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: Sahibzada Farhan smashed a maiden Pakistan Super League (PSL) century to propel Islamabad United to a massive total of 243/5 against Peshawar Zalmi in their PSL 10 encounter at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Monday.
Islamabad United, opting to bat first after winning the toss, endured an early blow when Andries Gous was run out for a duck by Tom Kohler-Cadmore in the second over, leaving the team at 9/1.
However, Farhan and Colin Munro launched a fierce counterattack, stitching together a rapid 144-run partnership that dismantled Zalmi’s bowling attack.
Farhan raced to his fourth PSL half-century and continued the onslaught to reach his first-ever PSL century in just 49 balls, equalling the record for the fastest century by an Islamabad United batter.
Munro supported the charge with a steady 40 before being dismissed by Alzarri Joseph in the 14th over.

Joseph then removed Farhan in the same over, ending a scintillating knock of 106 off 52 balls, laced with 13 fours and five sixes.
Following the double blow, Salman Ali Agha and Azam Khan added 34 runs for the fourth wicket.
Azam departed for 16, caught off Hussain Talat’s bowling, leaving United at 188/4 in the 17th over.
Agha, who struck 30 off 15 deliveries, was also dismissed by Talat, who finished with two wickets in his spell.
