Two Killed in Spain After Bus Plunges Into River

ISLAMABAD/MADRID: At least two people were killed overnight after a bus plunged into a deep river while crossing a bridge in the northwestern Galicia region of Spain.

Emergency services statement about bus incident 

The country’s emergency services said Saturday that the accident happened on Friday night near Vigo, bordering Portugal.

Local media said that the bus was carrying people who were visiting their loved ones jailed in Monterroso, in central Galicia.

Spain’s emergency services said that at least two corpses were recovered from the scene while two others, including the bus driver, were rescued and taken to the hospital.

The rescuers said that there could have been more people inside the bus. The rescuers also posted on Twitter and posted a photo of the vehicle in turbulent waters.

They said that three people were missing but officials did not verify it.
