ISLAMABAD:  China has announced that it had imposed sanctions on more US defence companies for selling arms to Taiwan.

Chinse state-run news agency Xinhua cited a statement from China’s Ministry of Commerce as saying that four US firms have been added to the “unreliable entity list” for selling arms to China’s Taiwan region.

It added that the decision was made by the unreliable entity list work mechanism in accordance with laws and regulations. The ministry said the mechanism has also unveiled a series of restrictive steps targeting these companies, according to Xinhua.

The four firms in question are Pacific Rim Defense, LKD Aerospace, AEVEX Aerospace, and Summit Technologies Inc, local media reported.

China’s Ministry of Commerce said that these companies are prohibited from engaging in China-related import or export activities, and from making new investments within China.

Senior executives of these firms are banned from entering China, and their existing work permits and residency qualifications in China will also be nullified, local media reported.
