Ministry Warns Citizens Against Fake Hajj Packages

ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Inter-faith Harmony has taken notice of scammers scamming people with fake Hajj packages.

It has been revealed that fraudsters have stolen millions of rupees from people in the guise of Hajj packages. These fraudsters steal money from citizens by luring them into paying the deposit for easy hajj packages. These fraudsters also offer Hajj packages in installments.

The government of Pakistan has stated that no such groups are allowed to begin registering for Hajj and has warned citizens to be aware of such imposters. The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Inter-faith Harmony has also stated that the government still needs to publish the Hajj strategy.

Ministry’s crackdown on scammers

In a related development, the ministry has also decided to take strict action by initiating a crackdown on the scammers who use the ministry’s identity to scam people by giving them fake hopes of employment in Saudi Arabia through advertisements on social media.

Ministry’s Spokesman Muhammad Umar Butt has said that people should stay away from fake advertisements hiring people for Kaadmeen-e-Hajj, Khuddamul Hujjaj, Khaadm-e-Masjid, Emam, Naib Emam, Moazan as well as other purposes.

He warned suspected citizens wanting employment opportunities in Saudi Arabia not to get involved with such recruitment and selection agencies or people suspected of scamming on social media.
