PESHAWAR: Social Welfare Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government awarded cash scholarships to 97 special students of Mohmand District here on Tuesday. Deputy Commissioner Arifullah Awan distributed these cheques worth over Rs.4.8 million among the nominated students.
The Social Welfare department arranged the event at the office of Deputy Commissioner Peshawar.

Distribution of cheques under Rehmat ul Alameen scholarship program
Assistant Director of Social Welfare Mohmand, Imran Mohmand, said that these cheques were distributed under Rehmat ul Alameen scholarship program among learners with disabilities. He added that it was for the first time that a handsome amount of Rs50,000 was being given to each student to meet his expenses.

He further said that the district’s social welfare department was utilizing all resources to provide full facilities and support to students with disabilities to continue their studies without worries. He added that the awarded cash would be given to the students in phases from primary to intermediate level. – APP
