ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal has said friendly countries will invest US $ 27 billion in Pakistan in coming years.
He added that the government is committed to bringing judicial and socio-economic reforms for the betterment of the country and to fast-track economic development.
The minister in his remarks on Sunday stated that nobody will be allowed to play with the peace and stability of Pakistan. Strongly criticizing the politics of PTI, he said the party must play its role in the parliament instead of coming onto the streets.
Ahsan Iqbal said friendly countries have assured of investing 27 billion dollars in Pakistan in the next five years. He added these are the opportunities that are knocking at our doors. He said it is our responsibility to take full advantage of these opportunities through continuity of reforms and policies.
Ahsan Iqbal said China has also expressed willingness to participate in the second phase of CPEC. He said China has assured the establishment of five new corridors including that of growth, innovation, livelihood, green economy and open regional inclusive development.

The Minister for Planning said that a Danish company has also announced to invest two billion dollars in Pakistan’s Port Infrastructure. He said that PTI is trying to create hurdles in the way of this investment. He noted that the party had also tried to sabotage the IMF deal.
Ahsan Iqbal said it is crucial to bring reforms in the judicial system as well to attract foreign investment.
The Minister said that the economy is improving as a result of the efforts of the present government. He added that the Pakistan Stock Exchange has touched the historic eighty thousand points, which shows the confidence of domestic and foreign investors. He said global agencies have also upgraded the credit rating of Pakistan.
