KATHMANDU: The arrangements for the 25th Annual Congress of the Asian Sports Journalists Federation (AIPS ASIA) are in their final stages, with Nepal ready to welcome international delegates from September 11 to 14 in Kathmandu.
President of the Nepal Sports Journalists Forum, Durga Nath Subedi, said that this will be the first time in Nepal’s history that delegates from both European and Asian continents will gather in the country for the annual congress.
The Congress will serve as a platform to discuss the promotion and development of sports journalism in Asia. The main focus of the gathering will be a dedicated forum addressing the challenges and opportunities for women in sports journalism, including the issues they face in the sports industry.
In addition to these discussions, several Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) will be signed to foster collaborations in the field. The Congress will also provide insights into the activities of the Asian Electronic Sports Federation. Special messages from the Olympic Council of Asia and the Asian Football Confederation will be delivered to the delegates, emphasizing the significance of the event.
Durga Nath Subedi expressed pride in hosting such a grand event amidst the natural beauty of Nepal, known for its majestic mountains, including the iconic Mount Everest, and tranquil landscapes. He highlighted that the breathtaking scenery would provide a fitting backdrop to this historic gathering.
During a forthcoming press conference, AIPS Asia Secretary General Amjad Aziz Malik will share further details about the Congress. The Nepal Sports Journalists Forum will ensure all preparations are in place for what promises to be a memorable and impactful event.
