Heavy Rain and Thunderstorms Expected Across Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Several regions of Pakistan and Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir are expected to experience heavy rainfall, winds, and thunderstorms.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast more rain and thundershowers in most parts of Sindh and northeast and south Balochistan.

Scattered rainfall is also expected in Punjab, Islamabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir.

Heavy downpours are predicted for lower Sindh, northeast and south Balochistan, northeast and central Punjab, Pothohar region, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Kashmir. The intensity of the rainfall could potentially lead to localized flooding in low-lying areas.

The temperatures recorded this morning in major cities are as follows: Islamabad at 24°C, Lahore and Karachi at 27°C, Peshawar at 26°C, Quetta and Muzaffarabad at 22°C, Gilgit at 18°C, and Murree at 15°C.

In Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, cloudy weather with chances of rain, wind, and thundershowers is expected in Srinagar, Jammu, Baramula, Leh, Pulwama, Anantnag, and Shopian. The temperatures in these areas were recorded as: Srinagar, Anantnag, and Pulwama at 18°C, Jammu at 26°C, Leh at 13°C, Shopian at 17°C, and Baramula at 19°C.
