DALLAS: Renowned Pakistani actress Mehwish Hayat has praised the patriotism of the Pakistani diaspora in the United States during her visit to Dallas as Pakistan’s Independence Day celebrations continue in the North American nation.

Hayat made her remarks at the Pakistan Day Festival, organized by the Pakistan Society of North Texas (PSNT), as part of the ongoing Independence Day celebrations in the US.

Speaking to the media, Hayat expressed her admiration for the enthusiastic participation of the Pakistani community in the festival. “I am truly touched by the love and patriotism displayed by the Pakistani community here in Dallas,” she said.

“It is heartening to see so many people come together to celebrate their heritage and show their unwavering patriotism.”

Hayat, who traveled from Pakistan specifically to attend the event, lauded the significant turnout and the vibrant atmosphere that greeted her. The festival, held at a local venue in Dallas, was organized to celebrate Pakistan Day and showcase the rich cultural heritage of Pakistan.

The Pakistan Day Festival featured a range of activities, including musical performances, speeches, and cultural displays. Notable attendees included Pakistan’s Consul General Aftab Chaudhry, renowned Pakistani artists Farhan Saeed and Rahim Shah, and social media personality Chahat Fateh Ali Khan, who entertained the audience with their performances.

The festival also provided a platform for several speakers to deliver talks on Pakistan’s history and the importance of preserving cultural ties among the diaspora.

In their speeches, the organizers emphasized the festival’s role in educating the younger generation about Pakistan’s history and the sacrifices made by their ancestors. “Since 1984, the Pakistan Society of North Texas has been dedicated to serving the welfare of Pakistanis in Dallas,” said Pakistan Society President Salman Tabani. “Our mission has always been to promote our culture and heritage among the younger generation, ensuring that they stay connected to their roots.”
