GAZA: In the statement released by the health ministry in Gaza on Monday, a grim scenario was painted, indicating that the health system in the Palestinian territory is teetering on the edge of collapse.
The situation has been exacerbated by the blocking of fuel shipments through vital crossings, a consequence of the ongoing fighting in the region.
This blockade has severely hampered the availability of fuel necessary to power generators in hospitals, ambulances, and vehicles used for transporting medical staff.
As a result, the ability of Gaza’s health infrastructure to function effectively is rapidly deteriorating, and there is a pressing concern that it may completely collapse within a matter of hours.
