ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized the urgent need for comprehensive structural reforms to ensure macroeconomic stability and propel the country towards development and progress.

During the apex committee meeting of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) in Islamabad, Prime Minister Sharif underscored the necessity of introducing structural reforms, including digitalization within the Federal Board of Revenue, to narrow the gap between revenues and expenditures.

He highlighted that addressing these challenges could result in savings of up to 1350 billion rupees.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif acknowledged that addressing these challenges requires cooperation between the federal government and provinces.

He expressed confidence in the collective capacity of federal and provincial governments to tackle these difficulties with unity and determination. He called on all political stakeholders and provincial governments to collaborate with the federal government for the betterment of the country.

Furthermore, Prime Minister Sharif emphasized that the burden of tough decisions should be borne by segments of society capable of absorbing them. He stressed the need to protect the poor, who are already burdened by poverty.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif lauded the efforts of the outgoing caretaker government for its initiatives aimed at improving the economy.
