ISLAMABAD: The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) issued an alert regarding unexpected weather in the upcoming days, with projections indicating a mix of rain and snowfall throughout various regions.

According to the National Common Operating Picture (NCOP) of the NDMA, from March 8 to 10, cloudy conditions are expected to prevail across most regions, with isolated rainfall anticipated in Central and Southern Punjab. Furthermore, significant snowfall is anticipated in the northern regions of Pakistan, which may lead to temporary road closures.

From March 10 to 12, the weather forecast indicates rain and thunderstorms in both southern and northern Balochistan, encompassing areas such as Katch, Gwadar, and Quetta.

Similar weather patterns are predicted for the western and elevated regions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Kashmir, while the rest of the country may experience dry conditions.

These fluctuating weather conditions could have diverse impacts nationwide. There is a possibility of landslides in vulnerable areas like Upper KP, Murree, Galiyat, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan, thus caution is advised, especially for tourists.

The NDMA advises residents and travellers to stay informed and take necessary precautions to mitigate any risks associated with the impending weather conditions.
