BEIJING: Chinese government prepares to introduce Artificial Intelligence (AI) curriculum into primary and secondary schools across the country.

In a statement, the Chinese Ministry of Education confirmed the implementation of AI-based curricula in the educational institutions. Initially, a total of 184 primary and secondary schools nationwide have been selected to start this initiative, aimed at fostering AI education.

The Ministry of Education in China said that primary and secondary schools need to focus on enhancing their educational and teaching resources in fields like Information Technology, General Technology, and related subjects to integrate AI education.

They emphasized the importance of teacher mentorship and uplifting the morale of designated AI curriculum leaders.

This involves the implementation of AI school-based curricula, establishing connections between systems and structures, refining teaching methodologies, encouraging collaborative creation and sharing of digital educational resources, and playing a crucial role in advancing digital literacy among educators.

This move is widely recognized as a significant stride towards mainstreaming AI education, aligning with global technological and educational trends.
