ISLAMABAD:  Pakistan Army and law enforcement agencies hold flag marches across Pakistan ahead of elections in the South Asian country, official media reported on Wednesday.  The Pakistan Army and the country’s law enforcement agencies continue to hold flag marches in different parts of Pakistan. It added that soldiers will be “deputed outside the polling stations to deal with any untoward situation in a timely manner”.

The bustling electioneering activities for the country’s general elections came to a close, marking the end of a spirited campaign season on Tuesday night. Political parties and candidates vying for seats in the National Assembly and provincial assemblies actively courted voters until the 11th hour, in accordance with the electoral laws outlined by the country’s Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).

The ECP had also completed a crucial task by distributing 260 million ballot papers to district returning officers (DROs) in the South Asian country. The commission’s staff also ensured the timely delivery of voting materials via both ground and aerial means, demonstrating determination. Political parties and independent candidates are actively taking part in the elections that to be held on February 8 in Pakistan.
