ISLAMABAD: Caretaker Prime Minister, Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar during a meeting with Foreign Minister of Iran, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian on Monday reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to further consolidate bilateral ties.
A PM House statement said that underscoring the close ties between Pakistan and Iran, the Prime Minister expressed desire to enhance ties with Tehran.
The Prime Minister also emphasized the need to address common challenges through cooperative and collaborative approaches, rooted in the respect for international law and the principles of the UN Charter, in particular, territorial integrity and sovereignty of both neighboring states.
The Prime Minister conveyed his warm sentiments for President of Iran Ebrahim Raisi and extended an invitation to President Raisi to visit Pakistan at his earliest convenience.
Earlier the visiting dignitary held an important meeting with Pakistan Chief of the Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir. Army Chief emphasized the paramount importance of respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of each country, considering it inviolable, sacred and a fundamental principle in state-to-state relationship.
Prior to the meeting he met with his Pakistani counterpart Jalil Abbas Jilani and also addressed a joint press conference.
During the meeting they reaffirmed commitment to strengthen the existing wide-ranging cooperation between the two states.
