BISHKEK: Kyrgyzstan’s Minister of Economy and Commerce Daniyar Amangeldiev on Thursday said that Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan will Launch joint production of 12 car models from 2024.
The Altyn-Tulpar car assembly plant, a joint venture with Uzavtosanoat, is poised for launch, and its designed capacity will be achieved by next year, Minister Amangeldiev revealed.
The agreement for car production in Kyrgyzstan to be reached on January 27 during a business forum between the two nations, with Uzavtosanoat partnering with the DT Technik company for the joint venture, as reported by Kun.uz.
In its initial year of operation, the plant aims to produce 10 thousand cars using the large-unit assembly method. Plans for the future include increasing production to 30 thousand cars and expanding to small-unit production, incorporating the localization of certain components within Kyrgyzstan.
Construction of the car assembly and production plant in the Chui region commenced in mid-May, with Kyrgyzstan’s Prime Minister Akylbek Japarov emphasizing the project’s strategic importance for both countries.
