ISLAMABAD: Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar on Monday expressed his government’s resolve to make Pakistan a centre of progress and prosperity in the new year.
In a message to the nation, the Prime Minister emphasized the significance of 2024 for the country, highlighting its determination to achieve the goals of peace and a robust economy.
PM Kakar called for unity among the citizens, urging collective efforts for success in all aspects of life. He paid homage to the martyrs who had sacrificed their lives for the homeland and extended congratulations to the nation. However, he noted that the government had prohibited New Year celebrations as a gesture of solidarity with the people of Palestine.
Drawing attention to the events of 2023, the prime minister pointed out the violence and aggression by Israeli authorities against the innocent people of Gaza. He expressed hope that the international community would play a role in ensuring peace in Palestine and putting an end to the genocide perpetrated by the Israeli authorities.
Furthermore, PM Kakar expressed a wish for the people of Kashmir to achieve their right to self-determination in the coming year.
