QUEENSTOWN, New Zealand: The second One-Day International (ODI) cricket match between New Zealand Women and Pakistan Women is scheduled to take place in Christchurch tomorrow (Friday).
New Zealand Women are leading the series 1-0. In the first ODI at the John Davies Oval in Queenstown, Sidra Amin’s remarkable fourth ODI century wasn’t enough as New Zealand secured a victory by 131 runs.
Both teams are set to travel to Christchurch for the remaining two ODIs at the Hagley Oval on December 15 and 18, respectively. These ODIs are integral to the ICC Women’s Championship 2022-25.
In the previous encounter, chasing a challenging 366 to win, Pakistan’s Muneeba Ali and Sidra began strong with a 110-run opening partnership, breaking a previous record set in 2016. However, despite Sidra’s impressive century and Muneeba’s contribution, Pakistan was bowled out for 234.
New Zealand’s dominant batting performance saw them post 365 for four, with notable partnerships and standout performances from Suzie Bates, Bernadine Bezuidenhout, Amelia Kerr, and Sophie Devine. Amelia Kerr’s bowling prowess shone through, securing three crucial wickets for the hosts.
The series schedule outlines a compelling clash between these teams, with the upcoming ODIs in Christchurch adding to the excitement of the ICC Women’s Championship.
