KYIV, Ukraine: A Russian missile attack targeted Kyiv on Wednesday morning, with Kyiv’s mayor reporting at least 25 people injured in the “enemy attack”.
Kyiv’s mayor, Vitali Klitschko, shared on social media that, according to medical personnel, 25 individuals were already injured in the Dniprovsky district of the capital, with 13 of them being hospitalized and 12 receiving immediate medical assistance.
Klitschko noted that an apartment building in the Dniprovsky district sustained damage as a consequence of the night missile attack.
Fifteen residents were evacuated, and the mayor mentioned that a children’s hospital also suffered damage during the assault. This marks the second strike on Kyiv within a week, breaking a prolonged period of calm in the Ukrainian capital, following an earlier attack on Sunday.
The Kyiv City Military Administration reported that, due to the interception of enemy air targets, numerous fragments fell in the Dniprovsky and Desnyansky districts. Evacuations were conducted in Dniprovsky district where a fire was recorded. Notably, Kyiv’s air defences successfully intercepted a missile on September 21, but the falling debris resulted in injuries to seven people, including a child.
