Riyadh: Participants in the Fifth Arab Water Conference, which was held in parallel with the 15th session of the Arab Ministerial Water Council in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia underscored the need for a roadmap to attain sustainable water security in the region, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Friday.
The SPA reported that the conference was organized by the Saudi Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture from November 22 to 23, saw around nine panel sessions with the participation of Arab water ministers and representatives of regional and global organizations which discussed means to enhance cooperation and joint Arab action in water-related sectors.

According to the SPA, the conference’s concluding statement valued the initiative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s (KSA) Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz to set up the Global Water Organization, expressing hopes that the Riyadh-based organization would contribute to obtaining water security in the Arab world.
