RAJOURI/ KISHTWAR, Occupied Kashmir: Indian security forces continue their oppressive tactics by so-called cordon and search operations in various areas of Rajouri and Kishtwar districts in the Indian illegally-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
The Indian Army, alongside paramilitary and police personnel, is actively conducting operations in Kalakote, Dharamshal, Sial Sui, and adjacent regions, including the Pir Panjal range of Rajouri district.
Simultaneously, the Indian army has augmented the deployment of its personnel in the Kishtwar district, leading to heightened searches along the Kishtwar-Batote highway. These operations have instilled a sense of panic among local residents, illustrating the disruptive impact of the military’s actions on the daily lives of the Kashmiri population.
In a parallel development, India’s formidable agencies, including the National Investigation Agency (NIA), State Investigation Agency (SIA), Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of police, Enforcement Directorate (ED), and the Crime Branch of occupied Jammu and Kashmir police, continue their crackdown on Kashmiri properties. The targeted properties, totaling 500, encompass lands and houses owned by oppressed Kashmiris, including prominent figures like the late Syed Ali Gilani, incarcerated leaders Shabbir Ahmed Shah and Aasiya Andrabi, as well as Syed Salahuddin and Mushtaq Zargar.
This relentless campaign against Kashmiri properties underscores the Indian government’s oppressive measures aimed at suppressing dissent and stifling any form of opposition. The widespread seizures not only violate the basic rights of the affected individuals but also contribute to an atmosphere of fear and intimidation in IIOJK. The international community continues to monitor and condemn such actions, urging India to respect human rights and address the longstanding issues in the region through peaceful and inclusive means.
