RAMALLAH: Palestinian Prime Minister Muhammad Shtayyeh has raised his voice against the ongoing Israeli brutalities against innocent Palestinians in the Gaza Strip and demanded an immediate end to the violence against the Palestinian people.

Speaking at a weekly government meeting, Shtayyeh called for the establishment of safe humanitarian corridors in Gaza to facilitate the urgent delivery of essential supplies, including food, medicine, water, and fuel, to the besieged enclave.

Shtayyeh emphasized the urgency of the situation, stating that the 20 aid trucks per day currently entering Gaza were insufficient to meet the basic needs of the population. His plea comes amidst reports of Israeli bombs targeting the Turkish Friendship Hospital in Gaza, causing panic among patients and medical staff.

According to the United Nations, all 10 hospitals in northern Gaza have received evacuation orders from Israeli authorities, despite sheltering thousands of patients and approximately 117,000 displaced Palestinian civilians.

Rapid Protection Force to Protect Palestinians in Gaza

South Africa has called on the United Nations to deploy a rapid protection force in Gaza to shield civilians from further bombardment as Israel escalates its brutal operations in the region. Meanwhile, Germany has urged Israel to ensure the safety of innocent Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, emphasizing Israel’s responsibility as the occupying power to protect the Palestinian population from attacks by extremist Israeli settlers.

The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has strongly condemned the ongoing brutal Israeli aggression in Gaza. OIC Secretary General Hissein Brahim Taha issued a statement denouncing the relentless assault on the besieged enclave, which has led to the loss of thousands of Palestinian lives, including women, children, medical personnel, and journalists.

The OIC chief highlighted Israel’s threats to bomb hospitals and its prevention of access to essential resources. He described these actions as collective punishment, war crimes, and blatant violations of international law and humanitarian principles.
