Pakistan Condoles with Morocco Over Earthquake Losses

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, Aneeq Ahmed, held a meeting with the Moroccan Ambassador to Islamabad, Mohamed Karmoune, on Monday to convey his sincere condolences over the loses of precious lives in the earthquake that hit the southwestern region of the Morocco.

In a heartfelt condolence, Minister Aneeq extended his sympathies, saying, “I am here to express my deep condolences and to stand in unity with the people of Morocco during this tragic time.”

He emphasized the enduring and robust fraternal relationship between Pakistan and Morocco, assuring that the government and people of Pakistan would provide support to Morocco in every way during this trying time.

In response, Ambassador Mohamed Karmoune expressed his gratitude for Minister Aneeq’s condolences and acknowledged the significance of Pakistan’s support during this period of mourning.

This meeting between Minister Aneeq Ahmed and Ambassador Mohamed Karmoune highlighted the importance of international solidarity and the resilience of diplomatic relations in times of crisis.

Earthquake Death Toll

Meanwhile, the death toll from the devastating earthquake that struck the southwestern region of Morocco on Friday soared to 2,862 as rescuers search operations to find survivors and dead bodies in the rubble of hundreds of collapsed buildings continue.
