RAWALPINDI: Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Syed Asim Munir, undertook a visit to the Sherwangi area near Asman Manza in the South Waziristan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, where six brave soldiers had embraced martyrdom while gallantly fighting terrorists, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) stated on Tuesday.
Upon arrival, COAS was received by Commander Peshawar Corps. The COAS was provided with a comprehensive briefing on the prevailing security situation, encompassing ongoing intelligence operations and counter-terrorism endeavors. The army chief took the opportunity to engage with officers and troops deployed in the region, expressing his admiration for their unwavering determination in the face of the terrorism threat.
General Syed Asim Munir expressed that the fallen soldiers were a source of immense pride for Pakistan, and their sacrifices would not go in vain. He underscored that their sacrifices would continue to inspire the nation’s pursuit of complete peace and stability.
The COAS was steadfast in his determination to confront terrorism and its supporters head-on. He emphasized that terrorists, along with their associates and abettors, who operate with the intent of destabilizing Pakistan on behalf of hostile entities, would be relentlessly hunted down until they surrendered to the sovereignty of the State of Pakistan.
