MEXICO CITY: At least 16 people have been killed while 36 others injured in a bus accident in central Mexico, Western media reported Wednesday.
Reports quoting Mexico’s INM migration institute said that 15 Mexicans and one Venezuelan among the killed.
The bus carrying 52 passengers smashed into a trailer truck on a highway near the border between Oaxaca and Puebla states.
Sixteen People Killed in Mexico Bus Accident
There were 10 Venezuelan citizens in the bus who had appointments with CBP One program to get asylum in the United States.
At least 36 passengers were injured and taken to hospital after the bus accident.
Earlier this month eighteen people were killed in Mexico after a passenger bus carrying migrants plunged into a ravine.

Mexico has seen many such deadly accidents leading to killings of migrants making the risky journey to the United States.
In July, at least 29 people died after a passenger bus crashed into a ravine in Oaxaca state.
In February, at least seventeen people died in a bus accident between central Puebla and Oaxaca, involving migrants from Colombia, Venezuela, and Central America.
