Pakistan-Italy Trade Witnesses over 97pc Increase During FY-2023

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s goods and services trade with Italy recorded an increase of 97.11% during the financial year (2022-23) as compared to the same period of last year.

Trade increase was registered at 624.518 million dollars against 316.995 million dollars last year, showing 97.11% growth.

The overall exports to Italy were registered at 1151.448 million dollars during July-June (2022-23) in contrast of the exports of 1087.434 million dollars during July-June (2021-22), showing growth of 5.88%, SBP data revealed.

On a year-to-year (YoY) basis, the exports to Italy recorded a decrease of 18.57% from 121.101 million dollars in June last year, against the exports of 98.601 million dollars in June 2023.

Meanwhile, on a month-on-month (MoM) basis, the exports to Italy also dropped by 2.76% during June 2023 in contrast to the exports of 101.400 million dollars in May 2023.

Overall Pakistan’s exports to other countries registered a decline of 14.09% during the financial year under review, from 32.492 billion dollars to 27.911 billion dollars.

Pakistan’s imports from Italy

On the other hand, Pakistan’s imports from Italy during the period under review was registered at 526.930 million dollars against 770.439 million dollars last year, showing a decline of 31.60% in July-June (2022-23).

On a YoY basis, the import from Italy also dropped by 44.56% from 57.944 million dollars in June 2022, against the imports of 32.121 million dollars in June 2023.

On a MoM basis, Pakistan’s imports from Italy decreased by 58.375% during June 2023, in contrast to the imports of 77.877 million dollars during May 2023.

Pakisatn’s overall imports registered a decrease of 27.32%, from 71.542 billion dollars to 51.993 billion dollars, the data revealed.
