Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has said that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has halted all direct contacts between the two countries, western media reported on Thursday.
As per reports he made these remarks during an on-line interview with a Diana Panchenko, a Ukrainian journalist.

He said last contact between Ukraine and Belarus took place a few months ago.
Lukashenko said Belarus involvement in the war on Russian side, potential use of nuclear weapons and Wagner Group mercenaries were the issues discussed during the talks.
He said that such topics raised concerns in Belarus but these contacts should continue despite any pause.
Belarusian President expressing his views said that Russian President Vladimir Putin is not trying to push Belarus into joining the war in Ukraine.

He was of the view that Russia had already achieved its goals in its special military operation in Ukraine. He proposed both sides to resolve their differences peacefully through talks.
Lukashenko added Ukrainian leadership must do everything to stop the war in their country.
He added he has Ukrainian roots among other ones and he loves Ukraine very much.
On the other hand, war between Russia and Ukraine still continue with Russian defense minister Sergei Shoigu saying that the resources of Ukraine’s armed forces have been almost exhausted.
The situation remains highly delicate in the area, with both sides engaged in military actions. The ongoing developments underline the complex geopolitical landscape in the region.
Earlier, Foreign Minister of Russia Sergey Shoygu had accused the US of committing war crimes by supplying cluster bombs to Ukraine, which is prohibited by international law.
