DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Pakistan: In a series of successful operations carried out by the police, a significant number of illicit items were confiscated, including 9,900 liters of Iranian Diesel, non-customs paid (NCP) items worth Rs 8 lac, narcotics, and weapons.
The operations were conducted within the jurisdiction of Daraban, Saddar, Dera Town, Parova, and Gomal University police stations. Police have also arrested nine individuals involved in these illegal activities.
To stop criminal activity in the area, SP City Circle Ishaq Khan and SP Sadar Circle Umar Hayat Khan oversaw these operations, which were carried out under the supervision of District Police Officer Abdul Rauf Babar Qaisrani.
During one of the operations at the Yarik Toll Plaza, SDPO of Saddar Circle Muhammad Saleem Baloch and the Special Task Team successfully apprehended individuals involved in smuggling NCP items.
Police recovered NCP items valued at Rs 8 lac, including 20 bags of Iranian shoppers, 123 packets of toffee, two sacks of toffee, and 12 cotton toffee. Subsequently, these items were handed over to customs authorities.
In another operation led by SDPO Daraban Circle Malik Anees Al Hasan at the Daraban Police Station, 5,100 liters of Iranian diesel were confiscated from four trucks. Four individuals, namely Irfanullah, Rizwan Ullah, Akhtar Muhammad, and Ziauddin were arrested in connection with this incident.
Dera Town police, under the leadership of SHO Faheem Abbas Dhandla, recovered 3,000 liters of Iranian diesel and arrested Hakeem Jan during their operation. During search operations, Javed was apprehended with 25 cartridges of 12 bores, and Muhammad Farooq was arrested with 1,200 grams of hashish.
At the Parova Police Station, 1,800 liters of Iranian diesel were recovered from a vehicle, and Muhammad Iqbal was arrested. Finally, in an operation targeting drug dealers, SHO Gomal University Malik Sajid and his team arrested Sher Zaman after recovering 263 grams of ice from his possession.
Separate cases have been registered against the arrested individuals, and further investigations are underway. These operations signify the police’s commitment to combating illegal activities and maintaining law and order in the region. —APP
