JEDDAH: As many as 872 Palestinians were martyred and 1178 more were injured in the Israeli aerial and artillery bombardments targeting Gaza’s urban centers during the last week, from February 6th to February 12th, 2024, said the OIC Observatory Weekly Report on Israeli Crimes against Palestinians.
The report said that out of 872, more of whom were martyred in the Gaza Strip while 12 Palestinians lost their lives in the cities of the West Bank.
The report said that the Israeli aggression against Palestine has manifested in a plethora of violations, with approximately 3,004 reported incidents, including killings, injuries, arrests, settler attacks, incursions into the revered Al-Aqsa Mosque, demolitions of residential structures, property confiscations, checkpoint closures, road blockades, and indiscriminate shootings.
Of particular concern is the intensified assault on Rafah, situated in southern Gaza, where expectations loom of further atrocities in a city already overwhelmed by a population exceeding 1.3 million, many of whom are displaced persons fleeing Israeli airstrikes targeting northern and central Gaza. The region bore witness to 105 devastating massacres.
Yesterday, February 12th, marked the bloodiest day within the reviewed period, with 166 martyrs and 204 injuries reported. The total violations for that day reached an alarming 517, accompanied by the detention of 55 Palestinians, constituting the highest daily figure during the monitoring period by the OIC Observatory.

Meanwhile, on February 10th, the tragic case of six-year-old Hind Rajab garnered global attention. Found trapped in a vehicle alongside deceased relatives near a fuel station in Tal al-Hawa, south of Gaza, Hind made a desperate distress call to the Palestinian Red Crescent. However, she, along with two paramedics attempting her rescue, fell victim to targeted gunfire from Israeli forces.
After four months of relentless Israeli aggression, the death toll of Palestinian martyrs has climbed to a staggering 28,340, with injuries reaching 67,984.
In the West Bank, Israeli occupation forces intensified their crackdown, arresting 195 people in daily raids across cities, towns, and villages. Additionally, the revered Al-Aqsa Mosque faced repeated incursions throughout the monitoring period, while settlers carried out up to 25 violent attacks on West Bank communities.
