PESHAWAR: The 76th Independence Day in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa dawned with a 21-gun salute, including its capital Peshawar on Monday.
At Peshawar’s Captain Karnal Sher Khan Shaheed Stadium, a 21-gun salute was held. Later, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa organized ceremonies for hoisting the flag. Mosques also held special prayers for the nation’s success and prosperity and the unending peace of the Pakistan Movement martyrs.
At Peshawar’s Governor House, a magnificent flag-raising ceremony was held, and past ministers, legislators, and citizens from all walks of life were present. Haji Ghulam Ali, the governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, raised the country’s flag. Police saluted when the national anthem played. All Khyber Pakhtunkhwa districts, including the merged areas, held festivities while chanting “Pakistan” and “Quaid e Azam Zindabad.”
At a private school, a declamation competition was organized on Quaid e Azam’s contribution to the Pakistan Movement. The speakers shed light on the sacrifices made by our ancestors while creating the homeland.
According to third-grader Anaya Bibi, Quaid e Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah had a special affection for the people of KP and its younger generation because of their outstanding performance throughout the Pakistan Movement.
Quaid e Azam paid three visits to Islamia College Peshawar to honor the significant contributions made by the students during the Pakistan Movement.
She said, “Quaid e Azam had no weapon or police but was endowed with the power of advocacy, education, and solid arguments skills that immensely helped him to achieve Pakistan.”
A fifth-grade student named Laiba Farooq remarked that nations celebrate their independence days with a lot of excitement and pomp to educate their young people about the value of freedom. The best way to honor the heroes and martyrs of the Pakistan Movement was to work hard in the careers we chose to build a robust and unbeatable nation.
She claimed that Quaid e Azam was a powerful representative of democracy and independence who firmly believed in the power of the people. According to her, this was one of the main reasons he established Pakistan on August 14, 1947, just seven years after adopting the historic Pakistan Resolution in Lahore on March 23, 1940.
