75 Years of US-Pakistan Relations Honoured with Special Stamp

ISLAMABAD: The US Mission to Pakistan has concluded its year-long celebration of 75 years of diplomatic ties between the United States and Pakistan by commemorating the occasion with a special commemorative stamp.

The commemorative stamp was honoured during an event at the US Ambassador’s residence, attended by Chief Guest Foreign Secretary Dr. Asad Majeed Khan, along with distinguished figures from the Pakistani government, academia, and civil society, a press release issued by the US Embassy in Islamabad on Friday, read.

Commemorative Stamp Symbol of Freedom

US Ambassador to Pakistan, Donald Blome, emphasized the durable friendship between the two nations, stating, “This stamp, which shows symbols of freedom from both countries, not only marks the initial 75 years of camaraderie but also represents a vision for our future collaboration across various shared purpose. It underscores our ability to achieve remarkable feats when working together.”

During the event, Foreign Secretary Dr. Asad Majeed remarked, “Pakistan greatly values its extensive and enduring partnership with the United States,” further noting that the “U.S. has been a vital economic and developmental ally for over seven decades.”

As part of the commemoration, the Ambassador and Foreign Secretary jointly signed specially designed envelopes, known as First Day Covers, along with the commemorative stamp.
