ISLAMABAD: A helicopter crashed in the semi-autonomous Kurdistan region in northern Iraq, killing all passengers onboard, the regional Counter-Terrorism Service (CTS) informed media on Thursday.
The Eurocopter AS350 chopper crashed near a village in the Duhok province at 8:40 pm (1740 GMT) on Wednesday, according to a statement released by the Kurdish Counter Terrorism Service.
Helicopter Crash
A Kurdish security source, who requested not to be named, stated that an explosion inside the helicopter resulted in the crash incident and initial information indicated that seven people onboard were killed.
The source further said that the chopper crashed near an oil field, which was not affected by the incident.
