ISLAMABAD: Foreign Ministers from Pakistan, China and Afghanistan are meeting in Kabul on Wednesday to discuss counter-terrorism cooperation, security and development cooperation.

Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar has already departed for Kabul.

Ishaq Dar will be accompanied by Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Afghanistan, Ambassador Mohammad Sadiq, and senior officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Enhancing cooperation

During the meeting, discussions will be held on enhancing cooperation among the three countries, particularly in trade, regional connectivity, and counter-terrorism domains, Foreign Office Spokesman Shafqat Ali Khan stated on Wednesday.

The deputy prime minister will also hold a bilateral meeting with the Acting Foreign Minister of Afghanistan to discuss bilateral matters between both countries.

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has arrived in Kabul from New Delhi, where he was on an official visit.

The last round of talks was held in Beijing in May this year.

Islamabad visit

Later in the evening Chinese foreign minister would arrive in Islamabad on a two-day official visit.

On Thursday, the 5th round of the China-Pakistan Strategic Dialogue will take place in Islamabad.
