YINCHUAN: The sixth China-Arab States Expo commenced on Thursday in Yinchuan, the capital of China’s Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. The four-day event has attracted participants from over 50 countries, including Saudi Arabia and Mauritania.
This year’s expo is characterized by trade fairs and forums covering various sectors, including trade and investment, modern agriculture, cross-border trade, cultural tourism, health, water resources utilization, and meteorological cooperation.
The physical exhibition area spans nearly 40,000 square meters, with the participation of over 1,000 domestic and international enterprises.
Originating in 2013, the China-Arab States Expo has become crucial for fostering practical cooperation between China and Arab states and advancing high-quality Belt and Road collaboration.
Sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, and the Ningxia regional government, the expo has, over the past decade, attracted over 400,000 participants and 6,000 enterprises from 112 countries and regions.
These participants have signed over 1,200 cooperation projects, spanning modern agriculture, high technologies, and biomedicine.
Notably, China has become the Arab states’ largest trading partner. Trade between China and Arab nations nearly doubled from 2012 to reach $431.4 billion last year. In the first half of this year, trade between China and Arab states amounted to $199.9 billion. —Xinhua/APP
