KARACHI: The 59th birth anniversary of renowned singer turned religious scholar Junaid Jamshed was observed on Sunday.
Born in Karachi on September 3, 1964, the iconic singer will always be remembered for his hit national song ‘Dil Dil Pakistan’.
Junaid Jamshed quit the engineering profession to become a singer. He formed Vital signs band in 1986 but gained the fame when Tv & Film Director, Writer, Lyricist and Musician Shoaib Mansoor discovered the hidden talent in Junaid Jamshed.

With vital signs musical band, he toured the whole world. He quit the music industry at the peak of his career to pursue his spiritual and religious journey.
In 2004, Jamshed started reciting Naats on TV channels and released many albums. He also launched his clothing business with the label of J. which is now one of the famous brands of Pakistan.
He died in a tragic air crash while returning from Chitral on December 7, 2016.
