GAZA: A report released Thursday by the United Nations finds that over half a million people in are “starving” in Gaza because of not enough food stuff entering the Strip since the outbreak of war around 10 weeks ago.
World Food Program chief economist Arif Husain said that it is a situation where everyone in the Gaza Strip is hungry. Arif Husain warned that if the war between Hamas and Israel continues at the same levels and food deliveries are not restored that the people in the Gaza Strip could face “a complete starvation within the next few months.
The report issued Thursday by around 23 UN and nongovernmental organizations found that the whole population in the Gaza Strip is in a food crisis, with around 576,600 at starvation levels.

Bombing and fighting continued Thursday and there is no communications and internet service in the Gaza Strip. Israel has killed around 20,000 Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip since October 7. Around 1.9 million Gaza residents have been driven from their houses.
The World Food Program (WFP) has said about 90 percent of the people is regularly going without food for a complete day. An explosion took place Thursday morning hit the Palestinian side of the Kerem Shalom crossing from Israel into the Gaza Strip, forcing the United Nations to halt its pickups of aid there, Juliette Touma, spokesperson of UNRWA said. Around four people were killed, the hospital announced. Palestinian officials blamed Israel for the explosion, AP reported.
The World Health Organization (WHO) said that only 9 of Gaza’s 36 health facilities are still partially working. Israeli troops have raided a series of hospitals, arrested people and expelled others.
Meanwhile, the UNSC members are negotiating a resolution to stop the war in some way to permit for an increase in urgently needed humanitarian help deliveries to the Gaza Strip. Israel’s military admits 137 of its soldiers have been killed in the war in Gaza.
