Baba Guru Nanak’s Birth Anniversary Observed in Northwest Pakistan

PESHAWAR: Sikh community living in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan on Saturday observed 553rd birth anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak in historic Gurdwara Bhai Joga Singh at Dabgari, Peshawar. The anniversary of the founder of Sikhism was organized by Auqaf Department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Talking to the media, members of the Sikh community said that such events will promote a positive image of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Pakistan. They said that it is very necessary to organize such events to promote friendship, harmony and tolerance between the different sections of society.

Baba Guru Nanak 

A large number of Sikhs including foreign yatrees also attended the event. Advisor to Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Minority Affairs Wazir Zada was also present on the occasion of birth anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak.

On the occasion, advisor to CM KP Wazir Zada said that the aim of observing the religious event of the Sikh community is to promote interfaith harmony and peace among all religions.

He welcomed the Sikh pilgrims to Pakistan and said that they are their guests and they will try their best to provide them best facilitation during their stay in the South Asian country.
