ISLAMABAD: Strong earthquake tremors were felt across several parts of Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and northern Punjab areas on Saturday.
The powerful jolts caused panic among residents.
According to the United States Geological Survey (USGC)’s website that monitors seismic activity around the world, the earthquake measured 5.0 on the Richter scale.
The epicentre was located 12 kilometres from Hasan Abdal, Punjab.
Tremors were reported in Islamabad and its surrounding areas, including Taxila and Wah Cantt, where residents rushed out of their homes, offices, and schools in fear.

Similar reports came from Haripur, Abbottabad, and Attock, as well as several other cities across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The seismic activity caused widespread concern, though there were no immediate reports of casualties or damage.
