ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Information Minister Attaullah Tarar said on Sunday that 415 Afghan Taliban fighters have been killed in the ongoing military response under Operation Ghazb lil Haq.
According to the minister, Islamabad continues retaliatory action following cross-border attacks by militants and Afghan forces.
In a post on X, formerly Twitter, Tarar shared an update issued at 1600 hours on March 1 detailing what he described as significant losses inflicted on Afghan Taliban positions inside Afghanistan.
According to the minister, more than 580 militants have been injured since the launch of the operation. He further stated that 182 check posts have been destroyed and 31 positions captured during the ground and aerial engagements.
The update also stated that 185 tanks, armed vehicles and artillery guns have been destroyed. In addition, 46 locations across Afghanistan were effectively targeted through precision air strikes.
Operation Ghazb lil Haq was launched after what Pakistani authorities termed an unprovoked Taliban assault from across the border. Officials say the operation is ongoing and aimed at dismantling militant infrastructure that threatens Pakistan’s security.
